Teachers are the Core of the Educational System

A4E Perspectives~

Asynchronous, Synchronous, Platforms, Apps ……in a matter of hours, days and weeks, teachers around the globe have been plunged into a new world, with a new language and into a new frontier of instructional delivery and design.

For some, the new landscape was familiar, even comfortable, yet, for the mass majority of teachers, the new world is unknown, frightening and as confusing as the coronavirus itself.
In the United States school districts, unions, and Departments of Education at the local and national level, wrestle with Ed codes, legislation, and policies…teachers and students are wrestling with connectivity-socially, emotionally, and academically in their online classrooms.

Yet…….there IS something at the core of all education systems…..that is the TEACHER.
Regardless of the venue (F2F, Hybrid, Online), what MAKES THE DIFFERENCE REMAINS THE TEACHER.

The knowledge, personality, instructional strategies and attitude of the teacher sets the TONE, CULTURE, and EXPECTATIONS for all the learners. Teachers are the CORE of our educational systems, and it is teachers who will FACILITATE the way for all of our students.

Teachers, we are ready! Let's put on our innovative glasses, let's take the reins, and let's empower our students. Embrace our classroom with a strengths-based approach to teaching and learning:

  • How might we select programs, apps, and tools to organize, instruct, facilitate, coach and mentor?

  • How might we design assignments, tasks and projects that prepare our students for the their futures and their future workplaces?

  • What might metacognition look like in a virtual classroom?

  • How might our students utilize technology to organize, inquire, collaborate, read, and write?

  • How might our learners utilize technology to design, create, explore, and engage their peers as well as experts around the globe?

Many more questions and a multitude of answers are within every teacher around the globe.

As Teachers, we are all in this together. Let's do this together!
