A4E Perspectives~ Asynchronous, Synchronous, Platforms, Apps ……in a matter of hours, days and weeks, teachers around the globe have been plunged into a new world, with a new language and into a new frontier of instructional delivery and design.  For some, the new landscape was familiar, even comfortable, yet, for the mass majority of teachers, the new world is unknown, frightening and as confusing as the coronavirus itself. In the United States school districts, unions, and Departments of Education at the local and national level, wrestle with Ed codes, legislation, and policies…teachers and students are wrestling with connectivity-socially, emotionally, and academically in their online classrooms. A4E Perspectives on Design Thinking~ Our current global pandemic is forcing us at every level to ask questions? Why do things this way or that way? How might we adjust or change our current practices in our educational systems to assist all learners and include all families? The pandemic is freeing DESIGN THINKING for all of us. Design Thinking at its core is PEOPLE-CENTERED. It draws us in to integrate the needs of PEOPLE, explore the possibilities of TECHNOLOGY, SYSTEMS, SOLUTIONS, and IMPACT. Educators, the pandemic is affording us the opportunity to embrace Design Thinking as an approach to transform our educational systems, locally, nationally, and globally.
